Standard Web Abandoned Cart Notifications is a lightweight WooCommerce plugin designed to help store owners identify abandoned carts and send follow-up email reminders to customers who leave before completing their purchase.

The plugin tracks active WooCommerce carts and stores relevant cart information in custom database tables. It captures cart data when products are added, updated, or removed, and also includes checkout email capture for guest customers before an order is submitted. This makes it useful not only for logged-in customers, but also for guest checkout flows where the email address becomes available during checkout.

Carts are marked as abandoned only after a configurable delay and only when an email address is available. This helps avoid useless abandoned cart records that cannot be contacted. Processing is handled by a direct cron URL protected by a token, with a manual “run cron now” action available in the admin area. The cron marks eligible carts as abandoned, sends due notifications, records results, and cleans old cart data according to the configured retention period.

Administrators can create multiple email notifications with their own delay settings in days, hours, and minutes. Each notification can be active or inactive, and each notification is sent only once per abandoned cart. The plugin also prevents newly created notifications from being sent retroactively to carts that were already abandoned before the notification existed, helping avoid duplicate or unexpected campaigns.

Email content supports placeholders such as customer and cart information, and messages are sent using WordPress’ standard wp_mail() system. Store owners can configure sender name, sender email, and an email footer. Optional coupon generation is also included: each notification can generate a WooCommerce percentage discount coupon, with configurable discount percentage and coupon validity in days.

The plugin includes a cart recovery mechanism through recovery links, allowing customers to return to their cart and continue checkout. When a recovered cart becomes an order, the cart can be marked as recovered.

In the admin area, the plugin provides pages for settings, notification management, and viewing abandoned carts. The abandoned carts page shows carts already marked as abandoned, along with diagnostic information such as active tracked carts and abandoned cart counts.
